Born in Los Angeles in 1982, David Garibaldi showed an interest in art and music from nearly the start, doodling on practically anything in sight. He began playing the trumpet in the fourth grade and continued throughout high school, juggling his art with his music. In 2000 he attended a summer program at the California Institute for the Arts. He studied animation with students from around the world who shared the same drive and creativity. It was here that David Garibaldi gained a new perspective and a motivation that prepared him for challenges to come. In 2003, a friend from high school invited David Garibaldi to paint live on stage during a hip-hop show. The paintings took on a musical flavor, and David felt he was onto something. After that he began painting regularly at nightclubs, surrounding himself with music and defining his new style. The hard work began to pay off: David Garibaldi was contacted by EA Sports and commissioned for a painting now featured in their "NFL Street" video game. His resume continues to grow with fine art gallery showings, commercial work, and mural projects.
