The motivation to create her wearable art came from Harriet Rosebud's interest at a very early age in the shapes and colors found in even the tiniest of things like the design within a butterfly's wings. She was inspired by what she discovered and hats became her canvas to reflect that love of shapes, colors and textures. Her creations are extensions of herself and sold through her company, Rosebud of New York, to retailers across the country. The miniature hats within the ROSEBUD collection are re-creations of her own full size designs, serving as tributes to the African-American woman and her hats.
